Questo sito web si propone come vetrina on-line delle opere da lui realizzate e come un'introduzione all'affascinante mondo dell'incisione calcografica.

Nelle sue incisioni si mostra un artista attento alle precise regole imposte dall'ortodossia calcografia ed ai requisiti riconosciuti dalle convenzioni internazionali a garanzia dell' autenticità dei multipli d'arte, dimostrando così il rispetto e la passione per questa antica forma d'arte.

Come soggetti predilige i paesaggi, le ambientazioni naturali e le strutture architettoniche particolari come castelli e ville. Per quanto concerne il disegno a matita, realizza anche ritratti di persone ed animali partendo da una fotografia.   [continua Biografia…]

This web-site consists of a personal virtual gallery where my etchings and pencil drawings and portraits are exposed. My drawings are made by placing graphite on the paper with extreme care and precision: I love the magic produced by graphite when it reaches the whiteness of the sheet. To realize my pencil drawings, so as pencil landscapes, or again realistic drawings and drawings taken from photos, I use different tools: it starts from the simple pencil or a propelling pencil, or again a microlead - which can be 0.5 or 0.3 - , which I trace the guide lines and the marked lines with (I also use charcoals to realize darker shades) ; then, I pass to the use of stumps and brushes to mould the graphite put on the sheet, according to the shape of the drawing subject. I use different gauge stumps depending on the areas I have to treat. Also for the brushes, used dry on the graphite, I use different numbers. I use the brushes brands named Tintoretto and Toray. Also the paper used in the drawings has a great importance, for what concerns both its surface (smooth, rough, glazed) and its weight in grams (from the 100 gr. thin sheets to thicker ones of 300 gr. and more), and also its brand: Fabriano, Bristol, Canson, Arches. A sometimes neglected tool that I think of fundamental importance is eraser; I use different kinds of erasers, depending on the point of the pencil drawing I have to intervene: Staedtler or electric eraser for more marked lines, Newton ... eraser for delicate touching up, the mithic Blu Tack for the parts which require a very careful precision, etc. I also use a particular tool which I constructed by myself, to be able to work on the drawing with indenting technique, which allows to keep almost unaltered the whiteness of the sheet where it is needed (in particular with curve lines, such as locks of hairs in portaits, light strokes in lanscapes, etc.). When the drawing has been completed, I use a fixing spray to guarantee grahite to adhere perfectly to the sheet and keep the pencil drawing in time. I am particularly attracted by beatiful photos of natural landscapes or, anyway, themes which regard nature in all its forms. I really like realistic drawing, and so almost all my pencil drawings - portaits and landscapes - are taken from photos or inspierd by paintings of other artists (in my web site all the references to the owners of photos or paintings - not of my property - are present). I really like also animal portraits, since this allows to emphasize the peculiar characteristics of each animal, thank to effect of light and shadow i the picture. I love trees and all the landscapes they are inserted in, such as forests, mountain woods or mountain landscapes with waterfalls and streams. I really like winter lanscapes too, and so you will be able to see many of them within my penci portraits. I care each subject in details, usually focusing my attention on a specifical part of the drawing, where I seek the most perfect resul and an almost photographical realization.
